The second bridge we did drive through.
Both the first and second one had 6 ton limit. Nothing to worry about with them. Reminded me much of the bridges where we lived in Arkansas as a boy, without the cover that is. The last one we stopped at did not have a name, but was the oldest one we saw although it had been painted recently.
It was at an Ernie Pyle Memorial Rest stop on US 36. We also found a little village (Billie Creek Village) that has old building for the village and two covered bridges. One in use, one for walking traffic only. There were two old churches, a general store, print shop, mid 1800 barn, school house,
Kay pretending to be teacher, broom shop, blacksmith shop, quilt shop with one very amazing quilt, plus other sundry buildings. There won't be a blog tomorrow. We will be stopping one night near El Paso, IL and then to Rockford on Wednesday. Not worth the time takes to set up and break down the dish. Hopefully should have not to bad local television available there. So next post will be from Rockford.Ed
